Campus Minister – Full Time

Do you like working in a community that values the spiritual growth of its members?  Do you like collaborating with people who have a collective mission of serving others while growing closer to Jesus and his Gospel message?  Do you like creating opportunities to bring people together in faith and fellowship?  What we do at St. Catherine of Siena isn’t flashy or attention-seeking.  It’s simply a deep commitment to love and serve: reflecting God’s love for us.  If you answered yes, we have the ideal job for you.

St. Catherine of Siena Student Center and Church exists to bring people of all ages, stages, and backgrounds into communion through the shared mission of faith in Jesus Christ and his Church.  We are fed by the Eucharist and intentional experiences of prayer and worship, formation, service, synodality, and community.  We form leaders for today and tomorrow to serve those around us, both near and far.  Our community is energetic, creative, and forward-looking, with engaged members who foster an environment for a faith community that meets the needs of those who are seeking God in the twenty-first century.  Our DU Bulldog Instagram and introductory video showcase the life and heart of our campus ministry community.

St. Catherine of Siena Catholic student Center with the Diocese of Des Moines seeks a full-time Campus Minister.  We serve the students, faculty, and staff of Drake University, and are involved in support of students at other colleges and universities in the Diocese.  Our engagement of students happens through authentic and inclusive personal accompaniment. The Campus Minister plans, directs, and implements ministry programs and assists the pastor with the day-to-day functions and ministries of the Student Center.  Employing a student-based administrative and ministerial model, the Campus Minister provides leadership, direction, and support to the Student Ministry Team and supervises the FOCUS team’s interface with joint programs and events.

Drake University seeks to transform student lives and strengthen communities.  It is a midsize private university, located in the heart of Iowa’s capital city, with an enrollment of 3,000 undergraduates and 1,900 graduate students.  Drake provides an exceptional learning environment that prepares students for meaningful personal lives, professional accomplishments, and responsible global citizenship.

This is a full-time, 12-month position.  Salary is competitive, based on credentials and experience.  A full benefits package is included through the Diocese of Des Moines.  For more information, please go to this link for the job description which includes the essential duties, and qualifications.
